NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council of the City of Corning will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at their regularly scheduled meeting at 6:30 PM in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 794 Third Street, Corning, CA 96021.
Description/Project: The Corning City Council will consider an amendment to the Corning Municipal Code amending Chapter 5.50 to be retitled as ‘MOBILE VEHICLE VENDING” which will regulate mobile vehicles, also known as food trucks, within the City limits. This will include regulation of the permit process for the vehicles as well as health and safety concerns for their operation. The City Council will also consider adding Chapter 12.20 “SIDEWALK VENDING” to the Corning Municipal Code regulating non-vehicle vendors operating on the public sidewalks within the City to ensure compliance with Senate Bill 946.
Location: The entire City of Corning jurisdictional area.
Environmental Determination: the proposed amendment to the Corning Municipal Code is generally exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act ( CEQA) in accordance with Section 15061( b)( 3) of the CEQA Guidelines as the proposed amendment can be seen with certainty that the project will have no direct impact to the environment.
