The City Manager, Steve Kimbrough, serves as the
"administrative head of the City Government,
under the direction and control of the City Council".
The Manager is responsible to the City Council
for the day-to-day management of all City affairs
and the leadership of City Department Heads.
The Manager’s principal assistant is the
Secretary to the City Manager.
The City Manager also serves as the Finance Director.
The Manager is directly responsible for continual
review and analysis of all City administrative
operations including budget preparation and control,
organizational and procedural studies together
with staffing. The City Manager’s responsibilities,
authority and limits on authority are clearly
defined in city law in City Code chapter 2.44.
